David Ellefson is “perfectly happy and happy” after his departure from Megadeth.
The 56-year-old musician – who was a founding member of the band before its release in May this year – has vehemently denied claims he treated a fan after the bassist’s sexually explicit photos and videos were leaked online.
Thinking back over the last few months, David – now with new band The Lucid – told Aftershocks TV: “I’ve been active – I’ve been active making records and doing stuff for the last few years anyway.
“And I wouldn’t say out of necessity, because, honestly, I was okay with not having to make music for money, but to make music for fun, which was good.
“It’s fun to create for the sake of creation and not because it has to be motivated by anything else. So I guess I’m pretty happy to be right where I am.
“To be honest, I’m perfectly happy and happy where I am right now. I’m not going to lie, that’s perfectly fine. So I’m fine.”
Ellefson has previously denied the allegations made against him, describing them as “private and adult interactions that have been taken out of context and manipulated to do as much damage as possible to my reputation, career and family.”
He then shared a statement from the girl in question, who said: “Yes, those video calls did take place, but I initiated them and I was never a minor, I was always a consenting adult. “
Ellefson has filed revenge porn charges against the person who uploaded the images online.
He previously said: “Recently a very private video was illegally posted on the Internet and false allegations were made against me.
“The actions in the video took place between two consenting adults and were recorded without my knowledge. I am working with the Scottsdale Police Department as they investigate the pornographic revenge charges against the person who posted this video.
“In addition, my attorneys are preparing a libel action against this person. This person will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
“I take this time to be with my family. I wish my band mates the best for their next tour. “
