A few weeks ago, a fake profile of Lara Dutta surfaced on a dating site and she finally had to issue a clarification. Lara had said she had never been on a dating app.
In an interview with Film Companion, Lara was asked what she learned about 21st century dating while working on her new show Hiccups and Hookups. She said: âPeople keep asking me ‘have you ever been on a dating site?’ I mean, obviously not. They didn’t exist when I was dating. I have been married for 11 years, therefore. I don’t plan on getting on a (a dating site) in a hurry now. She added that she is sure there are a lot of fake profiles with her images on dating sites.
She then added, âBut all of this⦠I’m fascinated by it. I actually helped a friend create their profile on Tinder. He’s a divorced single man. I was just like (stages being all excited as a kid) ‘I’m going to do your profile. But for a very long time, I didn’t check with him to see if there had been a forehand on the profile.
Lara Dutta also said she realized that dating has become like a “faster revolving door” because people don’t want to invest more time than a meeting over coffee or tea. The actor also said she worried about her daughter, but knew she was only nine now and there was still a long time to go before Lara had to take care of her.
Earlier this month, posting a clarification, Lara said in a video on Instagram: âSince yesterday my feed has been absolutely inundated with memes and posts, they told me I have a profile on a sort of dating app. So it’s been completely crazy, I’ve been going crazy since yesterday, trying to answer people one by one and tell them what really is the truth. So I thought it was better to just go online and clarify it with you here, at the moment that I am not on any dating app, I have never been and neither am I at the moment.
She added: “I have nothing against dating apps, I think it’s an absolutely fantastic way for people to hook up and meet. Personally, I’m not on a dating app for it. moment. So for all the memes going around out there, I’m very amused to see most of them but there’s not a lot of truth in there. I do very few Insta lives so c Itâs really fun connecting with all of you who are here today. But if you hear This please know that not all memes that go around on a dating app are on any dating app. “
