Single men looking for secrets and hacks to get a good date through dating apps should take inspiration from this new research for the University of Jaen in Spain.
Data collected from nearly 300 female students revealed that women feel more comfortable with men who have small dogs than those who don’t.

What the study actually found was that men who have pictures of dogs in their online dating profiles are seen as more approachable and attractive.

To arrive at the results, the female students were shown pictures of men or women walking alone or with a dog, according to Mirror.

Half of the participants saw photos taken in well-lit locations and the rest saw photos taken in a dimly lit scene. After sifting through countless photos, the researchers were able to conclude that men with smaller dogs were seen as “less threatening and intimidating.”

“The current study showed that the small-sized dog elicits more positive emotional reactivity and higher levels of security than the medium-sized dog in most emotional contexts, highlighting that the emotional and security benefits of the presence of the dog could also be related to size, said a researcher quoted by Mirror.

The research finding comes just days after a Reddit user shared some major “red flags” women should watch out for when browsing dating apps.

She explained in her post how some men tried to ‘scorch’ her by adding a photo to their profile that showed them posing with someone else’s dog.

“I own a dog. It would be a major green flag if my potential date also has a pet he cares for and loves,” she wrote.
