Police make arrest with gun outside Prov Strip Club, court ordered suspect to surrender guns

Providence police made a gun arrest outside a Providence strip club over the weekend.

According to the police, the arrested individual is known to the authorities for several previous offences.

About the incident

Shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday, police were patrolling the Allens Avenue area for illegal activity.

Police said they were outside the Silhouettes Gentleman’s Club at 245 Allens Avenue when they saw three men leaving the club towards a parked vehicle, including 24-year-old Eddie Lee.

According to police, Lee was known to have passed firearms charges.

Police said Lee, after observing the officers, tried to walk away before being arrested.

Lee had previously been ordered to surrender firearms following a domestic incident.

Looking into the vehicle, police said they saw a gun on the floor behind the driver’s seat, which was seized and found loaded.

Lee said the gun was his and was taken to Central Station. He faces charges of possession of a firearm without a licence.

Latest information on the suspect

Court records show Lee has a record of arrests, including domestic violence charges in 2019 in which he was ordered to surrender his firearms and given a no contact order. He entered a nolo plea in this case.

In 2020, Lee was then charged with domestic violence for a felony involving a firearm in a house, where bail was set at $2,000 and he was out with $200.

He was eventually given a year’s probation by Judge Richard Raspallo.
