Step back in time on International Archeology Day on Saturday, October 15

Have you ever looked at the beautiful vistas of Douglas County and wondered what it was like when people first roamed these lands? Are you fascinated by archeology and curious about what we can learn from prehistoric artifacts?

Don’t miss your chance to learn about Colorado’s rich past at Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s 2022 International Day of Archeology Exhibition 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 15 at Roxborough Middle School, 7370 Village Circle East in Littleton.

This free Expo is educational and fun for all ages. Exhibitors will provide demonstrations, hands-on activities, and informative presentations on archeology, historical archeology, and cultural sites in Colorado. Professional archaeologists will give lectures for adults.

The children’s area features old handicrafts, including acorn grinding. Nearby cultural venues offer tours and on-site activities in conjunction with the Expo. These ancillary sites include Roxborough State Park, Lamb Spring Archaeological Preserve, and Ken-Caryl Ranch Bradford II and III sites.

Reservations are required for conferences and most tours – click here for registration links.

Parking near this event is limited. If you live within walking distance of Roxborough Middle School, we encourage you to enjoy walking to the event with friends, family and neighbors if you can.
