The genius of mathematics and author, who recently starred in The Channel 4 response trap, shared how he was unsure whether to “laugh” or “cry”.

He wrote to subscribers: “I don’t know whether to laugh, cry or just shrug.

He added, “On dating apps I recently got a message from a few people saying I’m a catfish. Now I’ve been started.”

It accompanied the post with a laughing emoji and was tagged in Hinge – the dating app, which claims to specialize in long-term connections and is “designed to be deleted,” according to its website.

Bobby then added, “I’m destined to be an old bachelor with a bunch of Casio calculators, protractors, and math problems.”

A Twitter user jokingly replied, “So what are you saying is you’ve become unbalanced?”

A second commented, “I can’t believe you haven’t already been snapped up!” You are young, beautiful, intelligent and you have a great sense of humor. You will find love, let it be.

And a third wrote, “Damn that was a lucky escape…. Hinge has done you a huge favor!

Another added: “Aw, Bobby! You are young and a wonderful guy. There is hope!”

Hinge has been contacted for comment.
