At approximately 9:30 a.m., Troopers were called to the 4000 block of New Castle Ave (Rt 9) for a reported carjacking. Initial reports from the scene indicated that a female subject allegedly robbed a victim in a car and fled south on Rt. 9. The suspect continued to flee and struck another pedestrian, causing minor injuries, at Old New Castle in the South Street and 6th Street area. She fled the scene and was involved in another collision on Washington Street. The suspect committed a second carjacking at this location and kidnapped an adult victim who was still in the car. The suspect fled south of River Road where she eventually crashed again in the Hamburg Rd area. An off-duty police officer and a former law enforcement officer, who have witnessed part of the incident, apprehended the suspect at the scene of the final accident. Constables arrived at the scene and took the suspect into custody without further incident. This is preliminary information and further details will be released as they become known and confirmed.
